Employment Opportunities

Miami Valley Materials Testing Center is looking for disciplined, qualified individuals to be part of the MVMTC team.

We are currently seeking the following positions:

Materials Science Intern

Authority Relationship
  • Acts under direct authority of the Metallurgist.
  • Acts under the authority of the Quality Manager in the absence of the Metallurgist.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Physical and chemical property testing of materials, such as metals and plastics.
  • Compile collected data and test results into finished reports.
  • Work collaboratively with Metallurgist and Quality Manager on all testing procedures.
General Responsibilities
  • Utilize laboratory equipment and instruments to carry out metallurgical and/or chemical testing.
  • Prepares results for reporting to customer.
  • Validate methods as needed.
  • Assist with other lab testing as needed.
  • General maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment
Educational and Technical Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a science based field of study such as chemistry or materials science and engineering.
  • Sophomore standing or higher.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, SAE, and ISO standards recommended.
  • Experience in materials testing preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of materials test equipment recommended.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud platform (Google drive, G-mail, etc.).
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.
