METALLOGRAPHY

Nikon Epiphot 200 Inverted Metallography Microscope

Miami Valley Materials Testing Center offers a complete metallography lab. Using the latest in technology, we can prepare metallographic samples of virtually any metal or alloy from common steels and aluminums to Metal Matrix Composites castings, forgings, sheet steel, weldments and anything else you can imagine.

 

TENSILE TESTING

Instron 3385H Universal Tester

State of the art testing is key at Miami Valley Materials Testing Center and with our Instron Universal Testing System we are able to test a wide variety of materials on its 56,000 lb load capacity frame. Based on ASTM Standard E8 for a 0.505-inch diameter sample we are able to test strength levels up to 280,000 psi, and because of the Instron Universal Testers' versatility we can test smaller samples such as wire and plastic down to 10 lb and 50 psi. We have the ability to shear, cut and machine samples in house, saving you time and money.

 

CORROSION TESTING

Q-Lab CCT1100 Corrosion Cabinet

From paint and coatings to platings and fasteners, Miami Valley Materials Testing Center will satisfy your corrosion testing needs with our state of the art salt fog system. Along with the 43 pre-programmed test methods including ASTM, MIL STD, GM, BS, DEF, DIN, VG, ISO, CCT, MCT, SAE, BMW and VDA we can also program your special test method to suit.

Certification & Technical Program Consulting

The Miami Valley Materials Testing Center brings years of commercial and military aircraft maintenance experience as well as casting and production environment experience to your certification and technical programs. Using leading-edge scanning electron microscopy, light element analysis, and other disciplines, our experts see what other labs often miss. We can help you shorten downtime by asking the extra questions and approaching your projects with a comprehensive set of expertise and technology. Additionally, MVMTC provides simplified one-page reports, multi-page reports, digital photography, and other consulting services.

Miami Valley Materials Testing Center's ability to prepare test specimens from most common materials gets the job done quickly and results into your hands fast.
